Baselworld 2017 – Czapek Expands Their Collection with the Place Vendome Tourbillon

Czapek, a brand reawakened as of late and established on the underlying foundations of Patek’s ex-accomplice, is extending its assortment with a wonderfully planned watch mixing custom and advancement. The Place Vendôme is the brand’s first tourbillon and highlights double time, power hold and day/night signs, with a pleasant contemporary take on watchmaking.

The Czapek brand was resuscitated toward the end 2015 , with the introduction of the exquisite Quai des Bergues. Owing its plan to a pocket watch (reference 3340), dating from 1850, the watch was granted the Public prize at the 2016 Grand Prix de l’Horlogerie de Genève – GPHG. Its restrictive development, produced with Chronode, offers 7 days of force hold ( read our article introducing the model here ).

Whilst the Quai des Bergues has been offered in various forms (various materials, various dials, a more modest size), Czapek is currently giving a second assortment double time, power save and day/night signs directed by a tourbillon escapement.

The Place Vendôme Collection offers satisfying evenness, with the helter-skelter sign of the hours and minutes at 12, the subsequent time region at four o’clock and the tourbillon at 8 o’clock. The day/night marker is noticeable at 6 o’clock.

The hours and minutes sign highlights a fabulous feu finish ring with stretched Roman numerals, while the gold ‘fleur de lys’ hands are in the Czapek particular style. Notwithstanding, it looks fearlessly contemporary, with its uncovered mechanics and anthracite sandblasted principle plate. The force hold is obvious through an opening in the hours and minutes dial. The subsequent time region sign is appeared on a plate that turns counter-clockwise, and it is associated with the day/night pointer at 6 o’clock.

The pulsating heart of the type SXH2 driving the Place Vendôme is a one-minute tourbillon. It is held under a finely cleaned steel connect (comparable and even to the extension of the subsequent time region). Its equilibrium, with 4 managing screws, runs at 21’600 vibrations each hour, offering a force save of 60 hours. The tourbillon confine is made of 57 sections and is eminently hand-finished.

The smooth case shape is like that of the Quai des Bergues, with its delicately bended bezel and crown monitor. 43.5mm in measurement, it is accessible in one or the other platinum (10 pieces restricted version) or pink gold (15 pieces restricted release). The sapphire glass is bended with twofold sided hostile to intelligent covering. The display case back empowers one to respect the immaculately completed development: fine anglage, open-worked ratchet (like the Quai des Bergues), sandblasted spans, blued screws…

The Czapek Place Vendôme is matched with a graceful and delightfully created gator tie fit with a pin buckle.

With the Quai des Bergues, Czapek worked really hard of reconnecting the brand with its distinguished past in a customary manner. While remaining consistent with this legacy, the Place Vendôme presently exemplifies an eminent and appealing current manifestation of the brand. Caps off! For more data, visit www.czapek.com .
