Hands-on Review – TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black Matt Ceramic

Earlier this year we informed you regarding the TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black Matt Ceramic , which made its presentation at the 2017 release of the Geneva Watch Fair. Since the frenzy of the principal half of the year is beginning to die down, we thought this an ideal future time back and give this watch an appropriate involved review.

The first thing you notice when you tie the sizable instance of the Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black Matt Ceramic to your wrist is exactly how light it feels. The second thing you notice is exactly how dull it looks. The motivation behind why is the equivalent for both; the 45mm matte black ceramic case. Seemingly perhaps the most secrecy looking watches delivered by TAG Heuer, the matt black case retains all the light around it, which unexpectedly makes the watch truly fly on the wrist – despite the fact that there is viably practically no differentiating tone on the dial.

It’s not simply the situation that is ceramic however. Pretty much every noticeable component is produced using ceramic, with just the internal box segment and the caseback being produced using steel to keep up the uprightness of the water opposition rating (100m). The push pieces for the chronograph in the interim, just as the crown, are produced using black titanium carbide.

The result is an extremely dull looking, skeletonized dial, with dim accents that contrast marginally against the matte black foundation. Indeed, the lone thing that truly stands apart is the date window just under 3 o’clock, which has a white foundation. I don’t know whether it would have looked better with a black foundation and white numerals however perhaps that wouldn’t have been clear enough?

Speaking of intelligibility, it’s not awful on the Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black Matt Ceramic yet on the other hand, it’s not incredible all things considered. The absence of difference, combined with the skeletonized dial can make it hard to peruse all the signs unmistakably and rapidly, contingent upon the light, reflections, and so forth All things considered, I wouldn’t really say it’s any less clear than other black-out watches with a comparative plan. Also, it looks particular on the wrist, if somewhat cumbersome, contingent upon your actual height. And keeping in mind that the measured case development is fairly suggestive of a specific other Swiss watchmaker in the LVMH steady, the plan and execution is still a lot of TAG Heuer.

As you would expect, the spread out of the dial is predictable with the other Heuer-01 models, which means focal sign of time and little seconds on a sub-dial at 9 o’clock. There is a focal seconds hand for the chronograph, and 12-hour and 30-min passed time counters at 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock individually, and obviously the date just under 3 o’clock. All the hands, including those for the chronograph, are matte dim in shading, offering some level of difference against the blackness of the dial. While this may not ideal as far as readability, I think tastefully it works better compared to presenting something with more grounded contrast (for example red) as this would have lost the entire look of the watch.

Inside is simply the in-house TAG type 01, a self-winding chronograph development running at 28,800 vph for max power save of 50-hours. Just as being part of the way noticeable through the dial, the subtleties of the development can likewise be seen through the sapphire caseback. As you would expect it has a blacked-out rotor, albeit here we discover a sprinkle of shading, with the words ‘Cal. Heuer 01 – Swiss Made’ sent in differentiating red.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-01 Full Black Matt Ceramic is offered on a coordinating ceramic arm band, which completes the black-out look pleasantly and feels great on the wrist as well. Cost is set at 5,650 Euros (see the specs for cost in other currencies), quite reasonable compared to the  standard steel/elastic variant , which is 4,750 Euros, particularly given that you’re getting a hey tech material in the ceramic.
