Only Watch 2017 , the much-anticipated 7th edition of the biennial pledge drive for research on strong dystrophy, is quick drawing nearer. Only Watch commenced their reality visit in Monaco on the event of the Yacht Show prior to making a beeline for Bangkok, Singapore, Dubai, Istanbul, Hong-Kong, Taipei, New York and Los Angeles. 50 exceptional watches will be sold by Christie’s in Geneva, Hotel des Bergues, on November 11th, 2017. Today, we investigate the MB&F Horological Machine N°8 ‘Only Watch’, made with youthful artist Cassandra Legendre.
Max Busser and Friend has been a long-term ally of AMM (Association Monégasque Contre les Myophaties) and Only Watch – It is nothing unexpected to see Max Busser’s horological lab partaking in the 7th version of the fundraiser.
For the event, MB&F have redone their car enlivened Horological Machine N°8 with horizontal time show ( read our active audit here ). Dispatched in 2016, its idea worked around a programmed development with hopping hours and running minutes circles. An optical crystal refracts the numeral so they can be perused on a vertical plane. Observing Max Busser’s wistfulness for supercars and the severe mechanical soul of Can-Am, the streamlined bodywork is secured under move bars bolted to the case. Sapphire precious stones uncover the driving force of the watch from various angles.
The Only Watch adaptation has been customized with a doodle by 15-year-old Cassandra Legendre (a understudy, ballet performer and craftsman from Madrid) in a contacting similitude of a kid making something to help youngsters. This joint effort some way or another will come as nothing unexpected from a brand whose aphorism is that “a innovative grown-up is a kid who survives“.
Childhood and the force of dreams – Cassandra Legendre’s offbeat creation is engraved and metallized on the sapphire precious stone that overcomes the development. The plate recently engraved by the MB&F logo has been changed into a smiley, its two screws shaping the eyes. One of the components of her drawing is highlighted in 3D between the optical crystal. This white gold miniature model, hand-created by Oliver Khun (also engaged with the assembling of the HM6 Alien Nation), required 120 hours of careful work to complete with subtleties as little as 0.2 mm in distance across, for example, the tusks.
The croc tie is fit on augmentation turns which assist the watch with fitting on the wrist comfortably, in spite of its overwhelming measurements. It is gotten with a collapsing buckle.
The gauge for this remarkable piece gave by Max Busser and Friends for Only Watch 2017 is of CHF 80,000 to CHF 100,000. This is to be compared to a retail cost of CHF 78,000 for the HM8. At Only Watch 2015, MB&F a special piece (Melchior Only Watch with L’Epée) was sold for CH 75,000 versus a gauge of CHF 30′,000 to CHF 45,000.
