NEWS – Christie’s Sells the Unique Patek Philippe 5208T Only Watch 2017 for CHF 6,2 Million

After the record-breaker that was the exceptional Patek Philippe 5016a for Only Watch 2015 , which sold for a shocking CHF 7.3 Million – at that time, before the Steel Patek 1518 and Paul Newman’s Paul Newman , the most costly wristwatch ever – today was another expected record breaking watch available to be purchased, the one of a kind titanium, Minute Repeater, Chronograph, Perpetual Calendar Patek Philippe 5208T made for Only Watch 2017. The mallet fell on this part only a couple minutes prior: CHF 6.2 Million. Not a record itself, but rather still again a noteworthy amount.

Again this year, Patek Philippe brought the serious weapons, with a special variant of its 5208, a Minute Repeater, Chronograph, Perpetual Calendar watch, made here with a titanium case, an exceptional blue dial with carbon fiber-like guilloche dial and an extraordinarily enhanced development – covered in dull dim and with a miniature rotor guilloched with a similar example as the dial. By and by, a super complex watch, made in a special clothing for the event of the Only Watch 2017 Charity Auction.

This year, the sale house responsible for the deal was Christie’s and without breaking another record – which will be very hard to beat currently, knowing the $17.7 Million accomplished by Phillips and  Paul Newman’s Paul Newman  – this is as yet an incredibly solid outcome for the closeout market and, in particular, for a decent motivation. After a preferably short clash of less over 5 minutes, the cost accomplished by the one of a kind Patek Philippe 5208T for Only Watch 2017 is CHF 6,200,000, which will all be given to  Association Monégasque contre les Myopathies (AMM).
